Ever since I was a young child, it was instilled in me that it was important to always give my best efforts in any endeavor that I would undertake. My parents would say that “anything worth doing was worth doing well.” Whether it was in the classroom, on the playing field, or later in my career, I have sought to make these words a personal creed of mine.
Now that I speak and write extensively on leadership and personal development, I continue to carry this message forward to audiences and individuals that I come in contact with, and it is something that I still feel passionately about. A person’s efforts (or lack thereof) will speak volumes about their character. Let your works speak for themselves, and you will not need to brag. The reward of a thing well-done is having done it.
My message to you is to always seek to give your level best in all that you undertake. Even if you stumble, or fall short of your goal, you can rest assured that you gave all that you had in pursuit of your goal.
An old proverb that I read once as a young man said that, “We judge ourselves by what we are capable of doing. Others judge us by what we have already done.”
Always give your best!
